Observations after a few days on the Mountain

Some ex-Baptists are more "ex-" than others.

Liturgics professors can't always get what they want, and frequently get things they hate, even in their own seminaries.

Maybe it's true that a soft answer turneth away wrath, but apparently it's also true that a soft question engendereth scorn.

There's no more frustrated preacher than one who has a great fifteen-minute idea for a five-minute sermon.

It's my observation that in particular the expertise of liturgics professors is often ignored or dismissed by others. I'm not sure why that is other than perhaps everybody thinks they have "ownership" of liturgy... It can be very irritating to encounter such arrogance, for lack of a better word, even by scholars in other fields, who would be up in arms if we treated their field in the same way.
