This is not looking good

It is beginning to look as if one of my department chairs is going to succeed in her scheme to sabotage my application for promotion. She has managed to delay and dissemble to the point that, in a day or two at the most, it will be too late to send out any further requests for external reviewers. Already the time is so short that hardly anyone will be willing to write on my behalf, however well they might think of me.

If any of you happen to know someone who is public-spirited enough (or, perhaps, interested enough in keeping your humble Hobartian servant from suffering a minor but costly injustice) to agree to produce an external letter of support for my promotion on very short notice indeed, could you send such a person my way? My e-mail address is ECPostulant, then the 'at' sign, and then aol-dot-com. What we need here is a full professor in either a philosophy department or a religious studies department/seminary/divinity school with sufficient credentials in medieval Christian thought to be a plausible reviewer for a specialist in medieval Latin philosophy from Anselm through Scotus. I can quickly send a CV and an article or two if someone wants more information before making up his or her mind. I'm not asking for anyone to say nice things that aren't true; I'm just trying to identify people who would be willing to evaluate my work under less than optimal, indeed almost insulting, conditions.

I know, the chances are slim -- and this request is grossly irregular -- but the blogosphere moves in mysterious ways.

If only I were a professor type person... *sigh*. Prayers instead of letters will have to do.

Prayers are greatly appreciated. I realized to my shame just this morning that I've spent way more time stewing about this than praying over it. I needed the Collect for Proper 11 to slap me in the face, I guess.
