Surely we could work these into Godly Play somehow

Courtesy of M., take a look at these Philosopher Action Figures. Some of the cleverest ones (Frege, for example) won't entirely make sense unless you've been pretty thoroughly corrupted by philosophy, but "my guys" have a broader appeal. Take a look:

"Awful" Augustine

"Angry" Anselm

"Acrimonious" Aquinas

Loathsome Lacan?

The guy who did these was a graduate student at Indiana, where I believe one would not be likely to encounter "pomo-ists" as anything other than objects of ridicule, or perhaps as bogeymen ("Better work hard in that seminar. Otherwise, your brain will rot and you'll turn into Derrida.").
