Good morning, Baltimore!
If you need your day brightened, go see Hairspray. It's that good.
I've ranted before about my distaste for my parish's annual Jazz Mass. Jared once suggested to me that instead of the now ubiquitous U2charist (umm, helloooo, the eighties are like so totally over!) we try an Everclear mass. In honor of Hairspray, I would propose a more Broadway treatment -- Evensong: The Musical! -- except that the Episcopal Church is already gay enough, don't you think?

No, I believe that I suggested a Radiohead Eucharist.
Everclear? Ick.
And I have to admit, I liked my first Jazz mass.
Sorry. Do you feel besmirched?
I hate musicals. I will suffer through Hairspray because I love C who loves musicals. Ewww to Everclear and Radiohead. And no U2cherists or jazz masses either.
So this sort of thing would be a nightmare for you.
This could be the next step...
Who would play the Griz?
I'm liking the idea of E:TM,!!! I can see it now - a fantastic solemn procession in, with every known Anglican liturgical garment (appropriately and with style, of course) displayed! A Choir of Men and Boys - they sing, they dance, they bow at all the right places! The backstory can be how the poor unappreciated music director toiling away in a low church rite II parish gets the idea of a Great Paschal Vespers after stumbling across the outline stuck in the back of an old 1940 Hymnal. Why, the possibilities are endless!

Finally someone who understands the true genius of this idea.
Eww to Radiohead!?
Christopher, I find myself crestfallen at your words.
Jared, sorry. I'll post my latest music listenings, and then you can have ample opportunity to ewww in return. I have to say that as far as Masses go, I'm kind of a Bachist--Johann Sebastian, that is. It's hard to live up to Bach. Radiohead just can't.
